Brazilian Butt Lift Miami

What is a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) Miami?

Fat-transfer to the buttock, more commonly called a Brazilian Butt Lift or BBL, uses fat harvested via liposuction from patients’ thighs, back, abdomen, or hips, and transfers the fat harvested to enhance shape, size, and projection of the patient’s derriere.

The Brazilian butt lift technique employs a mixture of liposuction and fat transfer to increase and in some cases widen the size of the buttocks. Fatty tissue that has been harvested from less desirable areas, like the love handles or arms, is then inserted into the gluteal area to enhance overall contour and projection.

Brazilian Butt Lift Miami Techniques

There are several different techniques available to cater to the many different body types and patient desires. All begin the same way: by harvesting fat from the patient.

Miami Thong Lift

By far the most sought after procedure is the Miami Thong Lift. As with all BBL’s, the Miami Thing uses the same fat transfer technique. By making small incisions in the inner gluteal folds, and lifting outwards, the end result is a slight separation of the lower portion of the inner gluteal folds (think the inner bottom of the letter “W”).

Next, the fat harvested from the patient is transferred to the outer areas to further enhance the shape and increase the size of buttocks. Specially designed sutures can also be used to further lift the buttocks from the inner gluteal fold outward.

The Butterfly Lift

In more severe cases of drooping or sagging in the area, another popular technique is the Butterfly lift. Usually for patients who have dropped a significant amount of weight, the butterfly technique gets its name due to the placement of the scars along the hip or bikini waist area. The incision placement allows for the lifting of excess skin. The length of the scar and its extension towards the front will depend on how much work needs to be done.

Ideal for treating sagging and excess skin along the hips and lower outer bucks, or “saddle bags” the butterfly lift consistently delivers excellent results. Once the lift is complete, fat harvested from the patient is transferred to increase fullness and projection of the buttocks.

This procedure entails a more extensive scarring when compared to the Miami Thong Lift. Scars are placed in a manner where they can be hidden along the top of the bikini line. The results are typically dramatic as the hips, inner and outer gluteus, as well as the overall contour and shape of the patient’s buttocks are changed drastically.

C-Lift

The C lift is a combination of the Miami Thong and Butterfly Lifts with an inner or posterior leg lift, resulting in a dramatic tightening and lifting of the patients entire posterior. Typically reserved for patients who have massive sagging skin along the gluteal folds, hips and inner or upper thighs, scarring with this technique is quiote visible.

Following the multiple lifts, fat that has previously been harvested from the patient’s trouble areas is then grafted into the parts of buttocks lacking in volume to correct any asymmetry or indentations.

When performed by a skilled surgeon, the results can be quite dramatic and beautiful. Patient’s undergoing a C-lift should take extra care in the months following their surgery as they will have several stitches and are at a higher risk for infections and excess bleeding.

Inner Leg and Posterior Leg Lifts

Depending on the laxity of the inner and outer leg, an inner or posterior leg lift might be required. This occurrence becomes especially common in people who have lost a great amount weight or simply have developed very loose skin. The incision takes place along the groin crease, which aids in hiding it. The scar anchors to the bone which prevents the scar from migrating down the thigh into visibility. In case of extreme laxity, the scar would have to reach around from the groin into the crease of the gluteus followed by the lifting of the posterior and interior part of the leg.

Is a BBL the right for me?

The Ideal Candidates for a Brazilian Butt Lift Miami BBL patient is in good health, at a normal weight range, and desires to permanently enhance the appearance and contours of their behind. Most doctors have a maximum allowable body mass index (BMI) requirement between 30 and 35.

What is BMI?

Body Mass Index or BMI is a calculation of a person’s weight to height ratio. The number is obtained by dividing the patient’s weight by their height. While BMI is used as a general indicator, it is by no means an indicator of a person’s overall health or fatness.

Do you meet your preferred surgeon’s BMI requirement?

  • Dr. Valls ----- 35

The surgical team at Eres advises patients who are in the process of losing weight to reach their goal weight prior to undergoing body contouring procedures of any kind. Significant fluctuations in weight can alter your results, creating the need for additional corrective procedures. Patients are further advised to be at a stable weight for a minimum of thirty days prior to surgery.

While men are no strangers to this procedure, the average patient is female in their late teens to mid-thirties. Most commonly, patients are unhappy with the shape and size of their buttocks and feel that it doesn’t match the rest of their body – they are too small and too flat. Fat is typically harvested from the lower back, upper buttocks, and hips and transferred to the buttocks bringing a more harmonious overall look to the region.

  • The day before surgery an assistant will contact you to give you last minute instructions as well as the time you must be at the clinic for surgery.
  • After the surgery, it is recommended to walk 20 minutes per hour everyday starting the day of the surgery.

What to expect on your surgery day?

Patients should arrive at the surgical center on with a companion.

By state law, the patient should arrive at the clinic two hours prior to surgery in order to have sufficient time to prepare for the operation and comply with any other requirements.

Our surgeons require patients to be at the clinic for a minimum of two hours before the operation in order to undergo an evaluation by one of our anesthesiologists, and fulfill all preoperative protocols.

What to expect after Brazilian Butt Lift?

The short answer is: patients can typically return to work within ten days of surgery, and feel “like their old selves” around day thirty. Patients will likely be wearing special garments and using the “butt pillow” for around sixty days post-surgery. After sixty days, patients have healed and may resume all normal activities. These estimates are a generalization and by no means guaranteed. We are all unique snowflakes and as such, recovery times vary greatly from patient to patient.

Following the surgery, patients are to wear compression underwear to aid the healing process. Patients should sit as little as possible and when they do sit, it should be on a plush surface. Typically a round pillow is placed beneath the hamstrings to relieve pressure on the buttocks. Patients should not sleep flat on their back, as these positions place a lot of pressure on the buttock areas, and this might suppress the desired outcome.

Advantages of the Brazilian Butt Lift at Eres Plastic Surgery

Because a key component of the Brazilian Butt Lift is liposuction, patients have the added bonus of improving the shape of trouble areas such as the love handles, upper arms, or inner thighs.

Buttock Augmentation Risks

As with all cosmetic surgical procedure, there are inherent risks involved. The best way to avoid these is to carefully follow the pre-operative instructions provided by the doctor. Patients should not lie to their doctors, as in doing so they put themselves in grave danger. While the BBL is among one of the safest procedures, patients must take good care of themselves post-surgery to avoid complications such as infection, or blood loss.

Failure to adhere to post-operative care instructions can harm the results of the BBL by causing asymmetry. The experience and skill level of your surgeon can be of utmost importance. Be sure to choose a board-certified plastic surgeon with experience, technical skill, and artistic ability such as the doctors here at Eres Plastic Surgery.

Do your research before your initial consultation, and make sure you convey your desires clearly with your chosen surgeon using photos of what you would like your results to be. Patients should keep their expectations realistic; a good rule of thumb is to look for people who are similar in overall body structure to your when searching for the right shape and size for you.
